Bonnie Tartan - https://bonnietartan.com/dancewear/
“We are a Scottish family run business based in the heart of Bonnie Scotland established in 2009. We are specialists in producing the finest Tartan Hosiery, Tailored Highland Kilts and Highland Tartan Dance Outfits and Accessories. We have years of experience in producing the finest tartan kilt hosiery which are all knitted, fully fashioned and hand finished for supreme comfort and longevity. Our tartan kilt hose, tartan kilts and Aboyne skirts and plaids are all made from the softest 100% pure new wool. We have our own range of ‘Bonnie’ Tartans which are used in many tailored Highland garments and accessories. We also offer exclusive products in bespoke bags, bears and soft furnishings that are bespoke in our selected tartan and tweed ranges. All our products are made by us in Scotland using the finest materials.
It was when my daughter started Highland Dancing at the age of 3 that I thought there was a need to continue a time old tradition of producing (initially) tartan hose, but only using a slightly more modern process. The traditional tartan hose still takes many hours to produce! We have grown to become the leading tailors offering superior crafting in a bespoke made to measure outfit.
The quality of our products are very important to us. We are constantly reviewing and refining our processes and products to ensure we meet your needs. We want you to be happy with your purchase and your complete satisfaction is very important to us.”
MacIsac Kiltmakers - https://www.mackilts.com/kilts-dance.htm
MacIsaac Kiltmakers provides custom made kilts for Highland Dancers of all ages and are meticulous at getting the fit right, provided the measurements given to us by the customer follow our measurement guide.
“Our dancer's kilts, like the men's, are made using only the finest worsted wool, but in a lighter weight. We add a good sized hem in each hand stitched kilt to allow for future growth, and interline with cotton canvas, (stitched in by hand) and line it with black cotton, also stitched by hand. There are 3 straps and buckles which are sewn on by hand as well.”
Karen’s Kilts - https://karenskilts.com
“With a passion for the costume, and love of the dance, I create hand sewn, custom made kilts, and all of the costumes that highland dancers are required to wear.
I can assist you right from the beginning with tartan and velvet selection, walking you through the process that can be quite daunting for even a seasoned dance parent. Custom fitting is provided for your vests and jackets to ensure your dancer looks her very best on stage. All of my costumes follow the SOBHD regulations for competition. Please plan ahead, and allow 8-16 weeks for your order, especially if through the busy spring season.”
